What is a "ROM Hack?"

A "ROM hack" is basically like a mod for an old game. Files for old games that were originally on cartridges are called "ROM" files, because the data for the games were in the cartridges' read-only-memory chips. Some ROM hacks change things slightly, some are like entirely new games.

My Hack

"River's Mediocre Hack" (will think of a better title eventually tm) is my Super Mario 64 romhack. I plan on it being a major hack, with new stages, music, NPCs, and whatnot. So far there's only a small hub world and one complete level, with the second one in the works. I'm pretty proud of what I've made so far, and I hope if you play it you'll have fun! There's no specific theme or storyline yet, and I'm not sure if I'll add one in the future. I'm mainly focused on putting my skills to the test and making a nice looking and fun game for people to play.
